Community Sing-Along in May at Central Square

The City of Tampere and Yle are organizing the Puoli seitsemän community sing-along event on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Tampere’s Central Square. The event will be led by Diandra and Mikko Kekäläinen, with special guests Eini and Mikko Alatalo – and everyone is invited to join in the singing! This televised, free event is open to everyone.

Puoli seitsemän and Tampere will celebrate spring, joy, and Manserock in a special broadcast on Thursday, May 7, 2026. The audience is asked to arrive no later than 6:15 p.m. The live broadcast can also be watched on Yle TV1 and Yle Areena.

City of Tampere and Yle (the Finnish Broadcasting Company) are organizing the event in collaboration. Tiina Klemettilä, executive producer of the Puoli seitsemän program, is looking forward to coming to Tampere.

– Spring has arrived, and it’s wonderful to celebrate it with a sing-along. The songs in the program are ones that almost all of us know by heart, from “Tipiti” to “Urheiluhullu” and “Pitkä kuuma kesä” – I’m sure these will get us in the mood even if it’s pouring rain!

Saara Saarteinen, Event Manager for the City of Tampere, warmly welcomes the Puoli seitsemän program to Tampere.

– It’s great to be able to sing together again by the Tammerkoski Bridge and kick off the summer season at Tampere’s Central Square. I hope as many Tampere residents as possible will come out to create that laid-back Tampere vibe for all of Finland to see.

We recommend arriving by public transport or on foot.
